Designation:
Appellation: St. Emilion
Producer: Chateau La Tour du Pin
Varietal: Red Bordeaux Blend
Type: Red
Country: France
Region: Bordeaux
Sub-Region: Libournais
Tasting note: 2010: This very perfumed style of wine is slightly cooler and fresher
than the more opulent, glycerin-imbued 2009. Exhibiting terrific
aromatics (black and red fruits, licorice, and graphite), medium to
full-bodied flavors, super purity, and a long finish, it should drink
nicely when young and evolve for 10-15 years, although I can’t see it
ever being very long-aged.
(90-93pts. Robert Parker)
Tasted: May 2011
Score: 90-93
Drink: N/A
Tasting note: 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc helped to produce a wine that hit
13.9% alcohol. Floral, cherry blossom, anise and black cherry scents
open this supple, fresh, sweet, ripe wine that finishes with spicy black
raspberries in a finesse style.
(91-93pts. Jeff Leve, Thewinecellarinsider.com)
Tasted: Apr. 2011
Score: 91-93
Drink: N/A
Tasting note: A fresh, open style, offering delicious raspberry and blueberry fruit,
with lots of alluring spice and licorice notes, followed by a flash of
fruitcake on the finish. Lengthy, with good range already. (89-92pts. JM, Wine Spectator)
Tasted: Mar. 2011
Score: 89-92

Tasting note: My best score for the estate en primeur. A success - better than the 2009 vintage. Still a little subdued on the nose but boasting fresh and ripe fruit. Mellow on entry then wonderfully aromatic and laden with taste; lovely tactile feel on the palate with a beautiful weave of tannins. Lush tasty length. Alcohol content: 14 % - pH: 3.7 - IPT: 85 (88pts. Jean-Marc Quarin)
