WINE IS DUE TO ARRIVE IN 2013
Format: 375ml
Wine Name: Chateau Doisy-Vedrines
Vineyard:
Designation:
Appellation: Sauternes
Producer: Chateau Doisy-Vedrines
Varietal: White Bordeaux Blend
Type: White
Country: France
Region: Bordeaux
Sub-Region: Sauternais
Tasting note: The Doisy-Vedrines has a refined bouquet of lemon curd, dried honey and
just a touch of quince, perhaps not quite as rich as recent vintages,
but very well-defined. The palate is well-balanced, with a touch of lime
cordial and passion fruit on the entry, and zesty acidity and
impressive precision towards the taut, slightly spicy rich finish.
Returning after an hour, this sample has enhanced clarity and volume,
and subsequent encounters confirm a very promising Doisy-Vedrines.
(91-93pts. NM, Wine Advocate)
Tasted: May 2011
Score: 91-93
Drink: N/A
Tasting note: Nothing really exuberant here but lots of subtle fruit and spices. The
palate shows pretty notes of oranges and cinnamon. Silky finish. Peaches
and white fruits too.
(91-92pts. James Suckling)
Tasted: Apr. 2011
Score: 91-92
Drink: N/A
Tasting note: Thick and spicy, with unctuous, still slightly raw-seeming layers of
apricot, peach and fig. Ginger cream and green tea check in on the
finish. Rather backward still, but there's lots balled up.
(92-95pts. JM, Wine Spectator)
Tasted: April 2011
Score: 92-95
Drink: N/A
Tasting note:
Showing a different style than usual on the nose - more floral and less stewed. Caressing, aromatic and still a little sturdy on the palate. Average length. (88pts. Jean-Marc Quarin)
