Vintage: 2009
Format: 750ml
Wine Name: Savigny-les-Beaune
Vineyard: Les Fourneaux
Designation: 1er Cru
Appellation: Savigny-les-Beaune
Producer: Simon Bize
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Type: Red
Country: France
Region: Burgundy
Sub-Region: Côte de Beaune
Tasting Note: While the aromatic profile is similar, this
doesn't offer quite the same level of aromatic refinement as the
Guettes but it's even more complex. The rich, powerful and opulent
big-bodied flavors possess a taut muscularity and seemingly endless
reserves of dry extract that relegate the otherwise very firm tannic
spine to the background. This is not an elegant Savigny but it will
live for years. (91-94pts The Burghound)
Tasted: May 1, 2011
Score: 91-94
Drink: 2021+
