Tasting note: This perennial underachiever performed well above my expectations, and I am prepared to say this is the best Olivier I have ever tasted. Dense ruby/purple, with sweet, unsmoked cigar tobacco intermixed with graphite, black currants, cherries, and spice, it is medium to full-bodied, fleshy, beautifully textured, and long. (88-90pts. Robert Parker)
Tasted: Apr. 2010
Score: 88-90
Drink: 2010-30
Tasting note: Showing a lovely dark color of medium intensity, this wine offers a ripe, fruity and slightly smoky nose. On the palate, it is a good and well structured wine that performs fruity and fat on entry, melting and floral on the mid-palate, before finishing over soft tannins. A very pleasant wine of medium length. (86pts. Jean-Marc Quarin)
Tasted: Mar. 2010
Score: 86
Drink: N/A
Tasting note: Subtle aromas of violet and blueberry follow through to a medium body, with fine tannins and a fresh, clean finish. (87-90pts. JS, Wine Spectator)
