Tasting note: A highly-spiced nose of purple and cassis is sprinkled with warm earth and anise notes that leads to rich, intense and quite generous broad-shouldered flavors that brim with seemingly buckets of tannin-buffering dry extract that culminate in a palate staining and strikingly persistent finish. I very much like the balance and while this is certainly firm, it's not hard or aggressive.(92-94pts. AM, Burghound)
