Tasting note: A more complex and broader range of fruit aromas include red currant, plum, blue berry, violets and the classic Aigrots minerality lead to fleshy but well detailed flavors that possess good richness as there is ample extract to buffer the otherwise firm tannins on the vibrant and delicious finish. (90-92pts. Burghound)
Tasted: May 06, 2011
Score: 90-92
Drink: 2016+
Tasting note: The 2009 Beaune Les Aigrots is a sensual, intense wine. It shows good fleshiness in its fruit, with suggestions of flowers, mint and spices that add complexity. The finish is a bit tightly coiled at the moment, but the Aigrots has plenty of promise. This parcel sits adjacent to the Clos des Mouches. It was purchased in 2005 and is being converted to biodynamic farming. (90-92pts. AG, Wine Advocate)
Tasted: May 2011
Score: 90-92
Drink: 2014-24
Tasting note: Good medium red. Reticent aromas and flavors of redcurrant, iron and leather, with a medicinal nuance. Smooth, rich and fine-grained but with good cut, showing as much saline soil character today as primary fruits. No shortage of acidity here. Serious tannins extend the finish. (88-91pts. Stephen Tanzer)
