Appellation: Russian River Valley

Varietal: Pinot Noir
Type: Red
Country: USA

Tasting note: Vivid red. Spicy, high-toned aromas of
crushed strawberry and raspberry, with sexy Asian spice and floral
accents. Juicy and brisk, with enticing red berry, gingerbread and rose
pastille flavors. Finishes with suave, integrated tannins and
excellent persistence. This wine was raised in 50% new oak but the wood
influence is subtle; it should age well on its balance. (93pts. Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer's IWC)
Tasted: May/June 2011
Score: 93
Tasting note: The 2008 Pinot Noirs are led by The 2008 Pinot Noir Aidan, which is made
from the modern Dijon clones of 115 and 777. Yields in 2008 were a
minuscule 1.75 tons of fruit per acre, hence production is down
considerably. Aromas of forest floor, plum sauce, black currants,
blueberries and a complex rose petal-like character emerge from this
dark ruby-colored 2008. With medium to full body and good acidity, this
beauty can be drunk over the next 10-12 years. (93 pts. Robert Parker)
Tasted: February 2011
Score: 93
Drink: 2011-2022
Tasting note: Firm, dense and concentrated, this is rich with loamy, minerally earth,
cherry rhubarb, spice and dark berry flavors that are full-bodied and
layered on the finish, ending with a touch of road tar. Drink now
through 2019. 377 cases made. (92 pts. JL, Wine Spectator)
