Vintage: 2008

Wine Name: Chablis

Appellation: Chablis
Producer: Vincent Dauvissat (Rene & Vincent)
Varietal: Chardonnay
Type: White
Country: France
Region: Burgundy
Sub-Region: Chablis
Tasting note: In contrast to the prior's wine inexpressiveness, here the nose explodes
from the glass, combining notes of lemon peel, Chablis-style green fruit
and oyster shell nuances that can also be found on the rich, energetic and
highly intense flavors that are powerful and almost painfully intense on
the extremely dry finish. I really like the balance and overall sense of
underlying tension. This should be great in time. (93pts. Burghound)
Tasted: Oct. 01, 2010
Score: 93
Drink: 2015+
Tasting note: Bright, pale golden-yellow. Sexy aromas
of orange, honeysuckle, hazelnut and toast. Big, silky, rich and deep
but not especially showy today as its stony minerality currently
dominates the palate. A downright profound premier cru with outstanding
persistence. It will be interesting to taste this next to the superb '07
in about eight years. (93+?pts. Stephen Tanzer)
