Vintage: 2007
Format: 750ml
Wine Name: Chambolle-Musigny
Vineyard: Les Cras
Designation: 1er Cru
Appellation: Chambolle-Musigny
Producer: Domaine Ghislaine Barthod
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Type: Red
Country: France
Region: Burgundy
Sub-Region: Cote de Nuits
Tasting note: Good medium red. Reticent but pure aromas
of medicinal cherry, menthol and red licorice. Rather compact and
imploded on the palate, with a strong stony quality and tannins that
reach the molars. This shows none of the easy sweetness and open-knit
fleshy character that characterize so many 2007s, but it finishes subtle
and quite long. Should prove to be a vin de garde in the context of the
vintage: I'd wait six or seven years. (92+?pts. Stephen Tanzer)
Tasted: Mar./Apr. 2010
Score: 92+?
Drink: N/A
