Tasting note: In contrast to the relative expressiveness of the prior wines, here the nose is reserved, even brooding with earthy dark berry fruit aromas that evidence a subtle hint of anise that is also picked up by the delicious, intense and detailed flavors that possess fine size and weight on the vibrant, minerally and energetic finish. This is a lovely effort with good structural ripeness and less finishing youthful austerity than I usually find with this wine. (89-91pts. Allen Meadows AKA The Burghound)
