Tasting note: Intense and powerful, this is full-blown and deeply flavored. The
flavors keep building, centered around ripe cherry, raspberry and wild
berry, with mineral and pebble notes that are tightly focused. Drink now
through 2015. 525 cases made. (94 pts. JL, Wine Spectator)
Tasted: Mar 31, 2009
Score: 94
Drink: Through 2015
Tasting note: There are approximately 500 bottles of the 2006 Pinot Noir Rosemary’s
Vineyard. Sweet raspberry and black cherry intermixed with earth,
underbrush, and spice box aromas emerge from this dark ruby-colored,
medium to full-bodied, pure, elegant, and nicely-structured Pinot. It
can be drunk now and over the next 7-8 years.
The
unquestionable Edna Valley reference point for Burgundy’s varietals is
Talley Vineyards. Their wines eclipse any other wines made from these
varietals in this region. (89+ pts. Robert Parker)
Tasted: Dec 2008
Score: 89+
Drink: 2008 - 2016
Tasting note: This is clearly the best wine in the group
with superior aromatic depth and layering of the spicy cassis and
raspberry liqueur aromas that complement the rich, dense and sappy
flavors brimming with dry extract and as much depth on the long and
palate staining finish as there was on the nose. About the only nit here
is a touch of backend warmth but otherwise, this is really a lovely
effort. (Drink starting 2011) (92 points Burghound)
