Tasting note: As one would reasonably expect, this is bigger and more robust with a similar nose that is both very earthy and gamy with more underbrush influence to the ripe red and dark berry fruit nose that leads to rich, full and serious big-boned flavors that display excellent complexity as well as notably ripe supporting structural elements on the equally long finish. Tasting note: Deep ruby-red. More closed on the nose than the Charmes, hinting at black fruits and licorice. Then quite sweet in the mouth, with tight flavors of blackberry and candied violet. This is dominated by its structure today, but already shows lovely incipient complexity. Finishes with substantial tannins and penetrating dark fruits. (91-94pts Stephen Tanzer)
