Tasting note: This too is sufficiently reduced that the nose doesn't offer much useful information but the medium-bodied flavors are quite fresh in the mouth with a pure, detailed and refined finish that is, as one would reasonably expect, much more elegant if not quite as deep as the l'Abeille. Still, this is worth a look. (87-89pts. Allen Meadows aka The Burghound)

Tasting note: Ponsot's 2006 Chambolle-Musigny Cuvee des Cigales brims with bright red currant and cherry, accented by iris and citrus peel, while underlying notes of char and chalk provide contrast and a sounding- spring-board for the vivacity of fruit. There is a slightly split personality here at least at this early stage between suggestions of creaminess and a certain angularity of tannin in the wine's finish. I would plan to enjoy this over the next 3-5 years. (88pts., DS, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate)
Tasted: Dec. 2009
Score: 88
Drink: 2009-2014
Tasting note: Good full red. Sappy raspberry and cherry aromas show a slightly liqueur-like aspect. Fat and dry, with a red raspberry flavor complicated by notes of iron, smoke and meat. A concentrated, soil-driven wine that's a bit heavy and lacking in high notes for Chambolle. (88pts. Steven Tanzer)
