Tasting note: A simply gorgeous nose of spicy and superbly elegant black pinot fruit aromas nuanced with hints of rose petal, soy, hoisin and tea that merge into exquisitely detailed, pure and rich flavors that stain the palate with ample dry extract and there is serious length as well. The addition of the new parcel has clearly taken this wine to a new level as there is a real sense of class and much better depth. Highly recommended. (93pts. Allen Meadows AKA “The Burghound”)

Tasting note: The Seysses’ 2005 Vosne-Romanee Les Beaux Monts smells of ripe plums and black raspberries, star anis, musky, narcissus-like flowers, resinous herbs, black pepper and smoked meats. Rather lean and firm on entry – like its Malconsorts sibling – this offers much more generous and juicy primary fruit, with more suggestions of underbrush and noble fungus. There is no lack of animal spirits or meaty depth on display in this no-nonsense, cut-to-the-terroir wine. It finishes with a torrent of flavor. I expect this and the Malconsorts should be given at least 5-7 years in the cellar. (94pts. DS, Wine Advocate)

Tasting note: Bright, deep red-ruby. Superripe but very primary aromas of black fruits, minerals, smoke and violet. Sweet, dense and chocolatey, with sappy lift to the black raspberry and chocolate flavors. This boasts compelling sweetness and finishes with solid tannic support. (91-93pts. Stephen Tanzer)
