Vintage: 2005
Format: 750ml
Wine Name: Gevrey-Chambertin
Vineyard: Lavaux St. Jacques
Designation: 1er Cru
Appellation: Gevrey-Chambertin
Producer: Dupont-Tisserandot
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Type: Red
Country: France
Region: Burgundy
Sub-Region: Cote de Nuits
Tasting note: A pretty mineral-infused red pinot and dark berry fruit nose trimmed in
violet notes and subtle wood combines with rich, detailed, fresh and stony
flavors that offer lovely texture on the elegant but decidedly firm finish.
This is a classically styled and decidedly serious Gevrey with a robust
but stylish character that is sleek rather than rustic. In a word,
beautiful. (92pts. Burghound)
Tasted: Jan. 01, 2008
Score: 92
Drink: 2015+
Tasting note: A dense style, with burly tannins enveloping the concentrated, ripe
blackberry fruit. There's more structure than fruit today, and the
tannins impose themselves on the finish, where the sweet fruit returns. (93pts. BS, Wine Spectator)
Tasted: Oct. 15, 2007
Score: 93
Drink: 2015+
