Tasting note: The 2005 Cotes du Rhone is solidly made, but seems more angular and tannic compared to its less expensive and less prestigious sibling. It is best drunk in its exhuberant youthfulness. (85pts. Robert Parker)

Score: 85

Tasting note: Ruby-red. Pungent raspberry and wild strawberry aromas accented by olive and violet. Suave, precise red berry flavors are firmed by fresh acidity, giving the wine compelling energy and clarity. Finishes brisk and long, with fine tannins. "This started off wild and herbaceous but it's all fruit now," noted Pierre-Marie Clape. (89-91pts. JR, Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar)
