Tasting note: Aromas of cedar, spice box, incense, burning embers, black currants, and new wood jump from the glass of this full-bodied, structured effort. Behaving more like a Pauillac than a Margaux, it is a long, concentrated, powerful wine meant for long aging. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2025. (90pts RP, Wine Advocate)
Tasted: June 2007
Score: 90
Drink: 2012-25
Tasting note: Aromas of cedar, berry and sandalwood. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long finish. Mouth-puckering. Slightly overextracted, but should come around. Best after 2010. 6,000 cases made. (88pts JS, Wine Spectator)
Tasted: Mar 31, 2007
Score: 88
Drink: After 2010
Tasting note: Deep red-ruby. Musky dark cherry, plum, espresso, graphite and nutty oak on the nose. Supple, plump and sweet, but with a firm spine of acidity. Just a tad cool in the style of the year but with a fine grain to its texture. Finishes broad and dry, with substantial dusty tannins and good aromatic persistence. (88pts ST, International Wine Cellar)
