Tasting note: Good deep red. Captivating aromas of dark raspberry, licorice, underbrush and truffle. Supple, silky and sweet, with uncanny depth for a wine from this vintage. Highly concentrated flavors of cherry, spice and black licorice; really fat with sweet fruit, and distinctly fruitier today than the Griottes. Broad and full but with zero heaviness. Very long finishing flavors of spice and licorice. An incredible performance in the context of the year. And structured to last. (94pts. Stephen Tanzer)

Tasting note: Notably riper if not more elegant spicy red fruit aromas nuanced by hints of game, smoke, tea, leather and lovely violet notes framed in moderate toast levels combines with sappy, dense and naturally sweet full-bodied flavors that possess a really seductively suave texture and a supple but precise finish that is hugely long. The wood is a bit better integrated here and it's clear that this is a 2004 built to age. (92pts. Allen Meadows, AKA “The Burghound”)
