Tasting note: Pape-Clement’s white wine is a limited, high quality cuvee generally fashioned from equal parts Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, although the blend can vary depending on the vintage conditions. Honeyed melon and jammy apricot aromas soar from the glass of this fleshy, full-bodied, fat, chewy 2003 white. Composed of equal parts Semillon and Sauvignon, it is a pure, ripe, decadently rich wine to enjoy over the next 15+ years. (93pts. Robert Parker)
Score: 93
Tasted: Apr 2006
Drink: 2006-2021
Tasting Note: Aromas of lime, lemon and mineral. Full-bodied, showing subtle undertones of vanilla and honey, with a long finish. A beauty. (91pts JS, Wine Spectator)
Score: 91
Tasted: Feb. 28, 2007
Drink: After 2007
Tasting Note: Pale yellow. Musky aromas of lemon crop, mirabelle and ginger. Rich, fat and very ripe, with smooth pineapple and floral flavors. Conveys a sweeter and more glyceral impression than the young 2004. Finishes very smooth and very long.
