Tasting note: As it almost always is chez Germain, this is at another level from all except the Tante Berthe. Everything necessary is here from the beautifully expressive and transparent red pinot fruit to the detailed, rich, powerful and dense flavors all underpinned by ripe tannins and plenty of racy acidity. In particular, the intense minerality and superb depth are most impressive as is the stunning length. A great Beaune. (91pts Allen Meadows AKA "The Burghound")
