Tasting note: This is purer and finer aromatically than the Blain-Gagnard as the wood is better integrated and permits the lovely white flower and ripe orchard fruit aromas to gracefully introduce the rich, full-bodied yet elegant flavors that display plenty of sap and concentration, especially on the beautifully long finish. This is a classy effort with impressive cut and finishing delineation and it has essentially arrived at its peak though should hold here for another five years, perhaps a bit longer.
