Tasting note: Subdued but pure, site-typical aromas of lemon, minerals, hazelnut and vanilla. Creamy, sweet and easygoing, with impressive volume. Finishes sweet and very long, with surprising grip in light of its gentle mid-palate. Still, Girardin recommends holding off on virtually all of the 2002s for three to five years.  (91pts ST, International Wine Cellar)

Tasted: Sep/Oct 2004
Score: 91
Drink: N/A

Tasting note:This is another step up in both elegance and seriousness with easily the best linearity and detail of any wine to this point, especially on the very persistent finish. To be sure, there is a bit of oak in evidence but this is stylish and really quite pretty. (Drink starting 2006) (90 pts. Burghound)

Tasted: July 1, 2004
Score: 90
Drink: 2006+

Tasting note: The 2002 Meursault-Charmes offers a nose of pears, apples, spices, and white flowers. This exceptionally broad, lush, velvety-textured wine is light to medium-bodied and displays hazelnuts, pears, and spices. Projected maturity: now-2011. (90-92pts PR, Wine Advocate)
