Vintage: 2000 Format: 750ml Wine Name: Chateau Potensac Vineyard: Designation: Appellation: Medoc Producer: Chateau Potensac Varietal: Red Bordeaux Blend Type: Red Country: France Region: Bordeaux Sub-Region: Medoc Alcohol:
Tasting note: Good medium ruby-red. Slightly medicinal aromas of blueberry, dark chocolate and game, with a liqueur-like exotic quality. Tightly wound and penetrating; in a rather brutal stage today, and not showing the lushness or sweetness of the vintage. Finishes firmly tannic, with a note of licorice. (87pts. Stephen Tanzer)
Tasted: May/Jun. 2003 Score: 87 Drink: N/A
Tasting note: It is a beautiful sleeper of the vintage. Rich and concentrated, it may be the finest Potensac since the 1982. (89pts. Robert Parker)
Tasted: Oct. 2003 Score: 89 Drink: 2004-11
Tasting note: Firm and well-done, with focused berry and mineral character throughout. Medium- to full-bodied, with fine and sleek tannins and a long, racy finish. From Jean-Hubert Delon of Las Cases. Best after 2006. (88pts. JS, Wine Spectator)
Tasted: Mar. 31, 2003 Score: 88 Drink: After 2006
