Tasting note: Much larger scaled with forward, powerful Gevrey fruit and similar flavors of earth, minerals and pinot extract. The tannins are big though ripe, the intensity is impressive as is the complexity and the persistence. Very solid effort. (89pts. Allen Meadows AKA "The Burghound")

Tasting note: Great Pinot Noir. Pitch dark, full in body, packed with mineral and earthlike aromas, bursting with black fruit, with a midpalate concentration that sends the taste buds into orbit. Firm tannins coat the palate, but the finish is as harmonious as can be expected in a serious terroir wine. (90pts. JS, Wine Spectator)
Tasted: Oct. 15, 2000
