Tasting note: Full red. Deep, brooding nose combines roasted red fruits, leather, tar and camphor. Sweet, lush and deep; conveys an impression of great delicacy in spite of its sheer size. An extremely harmonious wine with wonderfully palate-caressing fruit and thoroughly ripe acidity. The tidal wave of finishing fruit rolls by the big, sweet tannins. (95+pts. Stephen Tanzer)

Tasted: Nov/Dec 2002
Score: 95+
Drink: N/A

Tasting note: Exotic, almost jammy aromas, with hints of spices and flowers. Full-bodied, with big, round tannins and a ripe, almost sweet fruit finish. This is a young and lively red. Like tasting crushed berries. Best after 2006. 1,200 cases made. (93pts. JS, Wine Spectator)

Tasted: Nov. 15, 2002
Score: 93
Drink: After 2006

Tasting note: A stunning wine, with gorgeous sensations of freshly cut roses, licorice and tar that soar out of the glass. The palate shows great concentration, with much sweet rich fruit, tremendous length, and a fresh finish that makes this wine very complete and intensely satisfying. This should provide exceptional drinking for 20+ years. Highly recommended. (94-96pts. Robert Parker)
